Paws ran through the pack lands. A wolf was hunting a creature down. The wolf's black fur blew in the wind. His brown eyes scanned the area. A bushy tail followed the wolf, tipped with red. The slender paws of the wolf carried him easily, as his long maw sniffed out for food. The wolf's chin and underside were a dirty gray color. Around his right ear and eye were two very visible scars. This wolf had lived for three winters, and was still looking for a mate. The wolf's name? Shadow. He remembered when he was in the small pack of his family. Only four months old with his mother, father, and his brother and sister from the newest litter. But then a pack of wolves attacked. They took away his mother, father, and sister forever. Then it was just he and his brother. Shadow knew he would just make trouble for his brother. So he said he was going hunting, and left without even looking back. He never came back. Shadow was still a loner. Looking for another family. Shadow started to speed up after the rabbit he was chasing. He soon saw a river, strange. The river began to pick speed, as Shadow slowly realized where he was. The rabbit wasn't so lucky. It was hopping so fast, it hopped right off of the falls. Shadow stopped abruptly, as his paws skidded on the ground. He stopped right at the end, and rocks flew down. Shadow slowly stood up, looked over the edge, then backed up. Shadow sat dow, his ears flat against his head, his maw pointed towards the sky, and gave a low howl.

It had been quite some time since she had found herself visiting Zahon Falls. With such a recently healed wound and an overly bull-headed nature, intelligence bade her not to go and test her impulses.Yet an unknown song pulled the new alpha female's attention to that area, slender paws moving slowly to answer the call in person. Fortunately for this male Serenity never was much of one to care about loners and their boundries. Like she had anything to fear.
The zephyrs took about her body softly, shaggy tufts of obsidian fur dancing along with the movements of the wind. Following the stranger's strong scent wasn't too long of a trip, but then if waiting was such a problem then he could go cliff diving. An abrupt bark was what found air when the male came within her sight's range.
"Well, well, and who do we have here? A loner no doubt," interaction was always such fun. Something she didn't have much of lately, "My name's Serenity. Who are you, tresspaser?" Though her words held no hostility, Serenity stood prepared in the case of a what-if scenario.

Shadow quickly turned around at the bark. His eyes narrowed as he heard the word, 'trespasser'. Shadow said with a said, "My name's Shadow." His tail flicked from side to side and then he added, "I'm guessing you are the alphess of this pack." Shadow looked around and said, "If that's what you call it." Almost everything was silent. Shadow wondered if there was even one pack member. By the smell of it, Serenity was the only one here.

"Leader of this territory, the Netal Mountain pack lands," it was true, she stood with small numbers. Only two others were there, aside from herself. Tsuki and Whist were her only willing subordinates, any wolves previously in the pack had either fled or were killed from herself or her siblings. Perhaps there really was a curse among them.
She scoffed at his comment though, never one to let others belittle her with satisfaction. Her ear twitched slightly before speaking once more, "Well, since you're good at guessing I wouldn't want to make myself look bad. Do you have any business here?"

Shadow smiled and asked, "Why, I'm not allowed to pay you a friendly visit?" Shadow realized the seriousness of the alphess's voice. He lowered his head and voice, and said, "Look. I'm here for a family. Having wolves to count on. After what happened a few years ago......When a pack of wolves took my mother, father, and sister away from me forever. I've been looking for a new pack ever since." Shadow lifted his paw, then bowed his head. He stood up and asked, "So what do you say? Will you let me stay with you in your pack?"

She offered the male a soft and somewhat coy smile at his words. So he wanted a home? Fine. She wasn't picky, and he didn't seem all that bad. Giving him a slight nod Serenity spoke, "Kay. You can stay," simple enough, perhaps a little too trusting, "Be wary of the pack's borders- I'm not quite sure of any hostilities that lie beyond them." [/size] {Short x.<}

Shadow smiled and bowed his head. He said, "I might of crossed the edge of those borders coming here. So, is there any chance of a warrior position being open? I'm a fairly good fighter." Shadow's eyes shone. He was going to have a pack.

A yawn departed from her jaws, hind leg moving to scratch a spot on her right ear. Snapping her mouth shut she shook her head, a habit one might say. It took her a moment to process the question through her head, mind having already turned to other things, and for a moment she just kept her steady gaze upon the male.
"Mmm... I never considered a 'warrior' position. Should a fight arrive I'm sure many would fight. Subordinate would work for you? Just a basic member of a pack. We've no beta, nor one who I've decided skilled enough to lead the pack through a hunt. So, subordinate?"

Shadow bowed his head and said, "So it shall be. I'll just be off to meet the other members of the pack. Good day." Shadow turned his head and flicked his tail, then padded off to some other spot of the pack lands.
